Marine surveyors and ITIC

ITIC provides professional indemnity (PI) insurance to marine professionals against the consequences of their negligence, error or omission causing a loss to their clients or other third parties. ITIC is the natural choice for marine professionals, those who work in the marine sector who want to be assisted by a specialist, not-for-profit, insurer. 

This edition of The Wire is for marine surveyors and consultants. Its purpose is to focus professionals on risk management, by sharing some claims examples and on how exposure to claims could have been reduced through good practices. Alberto Comitardi is ITIC's senior marine surveying underwiter. Alberto qualified as a lawyer in Italy in 2008. Before joining Thomas Miller he had been working for the Genoan maritime law firm Studio Legale Turci since 2005, where he specialised in international litigation, cargo claims, charter parties, S&P, agency, logistics contracts and related insurances. He handles claims worldwide and he is responsible for underwriting risks in Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.
