Overall Objective of Role:

We are looking to recruit a Credit Controller at Thomas Miller to work with one of its businesses; International Transport Intermediaries Club Ltd (“ITIC”). The ideal candidate will have experience within the insurance market and will take responsibility for day to day tasks in order to achieve the credit control collection targets set by the CFO and management team.

Specific Responsibilities:

The main responsibility will be:

  • Chasing debts by telephone and email at regular specified times and recording progress. Debts may be due from brokers or directly insured customers from a range of international locations and currencies.

Other tasks will include

  • Working closely with underwriters to resolve issues surrounding unpaid balances and unallocated receipts.
  • Providing weekly summary reports on key credit control indicators and updates on old debts.
  • Managing payments of commissions and brokerage and credit balance repayments.
  • Providing assistance to other credit control teams or companies as required.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum three years’ experience within credit control.
  • Experience of the insurance market is desirable.
  • Numerate and able to understand complex debtor balances.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Good communication skills, polite and friendly.
  • Proactive with ideas and initiative.
  • Able to work independently.
  • A team player who is able to provide support to colleagues when needed.
