Alberto Comitardi

Alberto joined ITIM in December 2010 and was responsible for underwriting risks in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Monaco and handling claims worldwide. Alberto was well liked by the team at ITIC and his members. We wish him well in his new life, back in Italy.

What is the most memorable claim/new member/event you have handled/negotiated/been part of?

• Memorable to the member, any claim I have handled of course! … Memorable to me, a commission on the purchase of various oil rigs under a complex brokerage agreement. The letter drafted was hailed as a ‘masterpiece’ by the member’s legal counsel. We still had to sue the debtor to get the money however! 
• The largest offshore consultant in Italy. We have been after them for years and we got them to join eventually!
• Well, the MYBA Charter Show in Barcelona by far.  It’s a great venue, with great people where business meets conviviality.

What will you miss the most?
My friends at ITIC and Thomas Miller. What a great environment to grow among people with such diverse expertise and experience to nurture you. It’s Thomas Miller … nothing less!

What will you be doing with your time after you leave ITIC?
Unfortunately I will have to quarantine for a while until I start my new adventure!

Any life ambitions or future goals still to achieve (assuming ITIC wasn’t your life goal!)?
Learn a new language and join a Livery Company in London!
