Aviation update

Building momentum

ITIC has been providing cover for aviation professionals for over 15 years, and during this time the focus has sharpened considerably. There is now a dedicated aviation team of two, responsible for underwriting, claims handling, and market development. In April 2025, the team welcomed Luke Carter as Senior Aviation Account Executive. With a decade of experience as an air cargo charter broker, Luke brings valuable industry insight to ITIC.

Connecting at conferences

Through active participation in global aviation conferences and industry events, ITIC’s understanding has deepened, and our expertise has been widely recognised. ITIC has been invited to speak on panels at events worldwide.

Soaring to success

This success is built on the same principles that have made ITIC the leading provider of professional indemnity insurance to the marine sector. The underwriting appetite in aviation mirrors that of the marine portfolio, focusing on air charter brokers, aircraft managers, surveyors, technical experts, specialist consultants, and statutory and regulatory bodies.

Our growth strategy targets aviation professionals in jurisdictions with strong regulatory oversight, while emphasising ITIC’s unique position as the only mutual provider of professional indemnity insurance to the aviation market.

Looking ahead

Looking ahead, the ITIC aviation team are focused on building on this momentum: with planned travel across Europe and the US, strong engagement from ITIC’s board of directors, and a growing reputation within the industry. The priority remains delivering specialist expertise and trusted cover to aviation professionals worldwide - because success is not just about having a bigger market share, it’s also about setting the benchmark for sector-specific professional indemnity insurance, just as ITIC has done in marine.
