A celebration fit for the century

A celebration fit for the century

ITIC marked a century of service to the shipping and transport communities with a major celebration at Christ Church Spitalfields, London, on Thursday 25th September.

The event drew members, board representatives past and present, insurance brokers, lawyers, former staff, correspondents and key industry figures from across the globe, gathering under the vaulted nave of one of London’s most iconic baroque landmarks. Attendees travelled from as far afield as Buenos Aires, Santos, Tauranga, Singapore, Taipei, Istanbul, Louisiana, Bucharest, Barcelona and Lima, reflecting ITIC’s international reach and diverse membership.

The evening combined formal speeches with relaxed networking, live 1920s themed music from an excellent jazz band and performances from tap and flapper dancers. A nod to the 1920s could be found in the themed photobooth and through the naming of the cocktails. Guests were able to enjoy the Gatsby Gimlet or the French 100, which was a play on the classic French 75.

The main event was followed by an after-party in the crypt, where guests could enjoy a silent disco.
