We are looking for a driven, energetic individual to take this role and make it their own.
Overall Objective of Role:
The aviation account executive would be responsible for enhancing ITIC's existing relationships with insurance brokers, assureds and potential assureds, and for the development of relationships with new industry contacts and distribution channels. They would also provide support for market research and production of policy documentation.
Main Responsibilities:
The core aspects of this varied role focus on underwriting, claims handling, client relationship management and sales. For each of the responsibilities listed below, the successful candidate will be required to develop a deep understanding of ITIC's customer base in general aviation and aircraft leasing.
- Relationship building: Develop and maintain relationships with clients, insurance brokers, industry contacts and legal advisors.
- Sales: secure new aviation businesses as assureds in accordance with aviation business plan and sales targets.
- Underwriting: Manage SME accounts, providing new business and renewal quotes.
- Claims handling: Develop efficient, cost-effective claims handling services.
- Representation: Represent ITIC at industry events, confidently network with peers.
- Market research: Work closely with team members to identify new distribution channels and key aviation insurance brokers.
- Collaboration: Work with the marketing team on targeted sales campaigns, helping to create marketing, loss prevention and guidance materials.
- Performance: Working with the wider team to meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
Person Specification:
This is a new role which would present the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to develop and make the role uniquely theirs. There is ample scope for looking at more complex risks, specialisms within the aviation sector and/or business in specific jurisdictions as the role and market knowledge develops. A strong personal drive to succeed and evidence of achieving performance metrics is therefore essential, as is a willingness to travel and to learn in a highly specialised role in the aviation insurance market.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years in the aviation insurance broking sector, or as a junior underwriter of aviation risks.
- Account management: Proven track record in account management, including dealing with renewals and identifying potential for development.
- Networking: Ability to speak with confidence when representing the company at industry events.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Analytical & organisational skills: Strong attention to detail.
- Relationship building: Ability to develop good working relationships at all levels.
- Negotiation: Good negotiation and closing skills.
- Teamwork & independence: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Qualifications: Work towards CII qualifications is desirable.
