Circulars, guidelines, standard terms and suggested wordings are designed for members to use as loss-prevention tools. ITIC Rules are the basis for the insurance policy wordings.

Circulars
ITIC's circulars are used to send members important information relating to their business, whether it is a new regulation, a developing trend in business practice or a key updated from ITIC.                                   

Guidelines for import & export cargo
In the high speed, high pressure business of ship agency, time and accuracy are of the essence. Occasionally this leads to mistakes when it comes to the basics. ITIC has therefore created a set of guidelines for ship agents on importing and exporting cargoes – a brief reminder of the fundamentals – to keep you on track.

ITIC's standard terms and conditions for surveyors and consultants
Following consultation with a number of industry bodies, we have produced "ITIC's Standard Terms for Surveyors and Consultants," a set of draft clauses for members to consider using in their own trading conditions.

ITIC's guideline for the release of cargoes.
The two largest claims against ship agent members of ITIC (both in excess of US$2,000,000) have resulted from the improper release of cargo.  ITIC provide the following guidelines for the release of cargo, that is designed to help import clerks to identify the areas of greatest risk.

ITIC has received a number of enquiries from its members regarding wordings on official documentation.  To assits its members, ITIC has provided some suggested wordings.  

ITIC Rules(policy wording)
The Rules form the basis of members' policies of insurance with ITIC. The latest version is the 2008 Rules and translations are available in English, French, Italian and Spanish. However, translations are for information purposes only and no reliance should be placed upon them for the purposes of any insurance provided by ITIC.
